CadQuery 2.8.0 loft found no pending section wires, faces or vertices to build through.

What it means

The loft operation has no usable cross-sections. An empty Workplane establishes coordinates but does not create a section profile.

Why it happens

No profiles were created before loft, or the intended profiles were not retained on the operation chain. One profile produces a different diagnostic, More than one wire or face is required. A loft requires enough usable sections and their intended spatial placement.

Minimal reproduction

import cadquery as cad
result = cad.Workplane("XY").loft()

How to fix it

Create the two intended closed section profiles on the same modelling chain, separated by the required 5 mm height, then loft through them.

result = (cad.Workplane("XY").circle(3)
          .workplane(offset=5).circle(2).loft())
```

Step 1

• Create the first closed section rather than calling loft on an empty Workplane.

Step 2

• Create the next section at its intended position. Preserve the section order and avoid coincident placement.

Step 3

• Check solid validity, section sizes and resulting bounds. Adding an arbitrary profile only to silence the diagnostic changes the design.
